Every legitimate re-roof in Hialeah needs a permit and inspections. Skipping them causes problems at sale, at insurance renewal, and after storms. Here’s how the process works — and why you don’t have to deal with any of it yourself.
Why permits matter
An unpermitted roof can fail a 4-point inspection, void parts of your insurance, and become a costly headache when you sell. A permitted roof comes with a paper trail proving it was built to current Miami-Dade HVHZ code.
The steps
- Permit application — submitted to the City of Hialeah building department with the NOA product approvals.
- Tear-off + dry-in inspection — an inspector verifies the deck and underlayment before the new roof goes on.
- In-progress / fastening inspection — verifies the attachment meets wind-zone spec.
- Final inspection — the roof is signed off and the permit is closed.
